Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. The Beach Shack - walking distance to beach, shops, and restaurants. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
