Come appreciate the beauty of Emerald Isle in our BEACHFRONT duplex, Rustic Peacock West (or East or book BOTH)!

Located at the highly sought after area of the island called the Point.

We completely made over both sides of this property in 2018 including a new saltwater pool (shared between east and west sides of duplex), quartz counter tops, linens, appliances, paint, and floor throughout. SEE the NEW PHOTOS!

NEW in 2024!!! We have constructed a boardwalk all the way to the beach. Now it is even easier getting all of your beach gear out to the water.

You will adore the private walkway to the beach, deck overlooking a private pool (shared by both sides of duplex), ceiling fans in every room, covered parking, Wi-Fi, and Intelligent TVs in every room.

NEWLY ADDED enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water and NEW area to play cornhole. (Added in 2021)

Spend your days on the biggest section of the beach right out your door or relax in the private pool for a change before retiring into the cavernous and beachy amenities that the “Rustic Peacock” has to offer.

Being at the Point offers the option to play on the beach, picking up shells or walk around the inlet and discover the Sound.

Emerald Isle faces south so you have unobstructed vistas of the SUNRISE AND SUNSET from your upper and lower decks!

Watching dolphins swim and play in the surf is another favorite pastime.

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in The Point, a neighborhood in Emerald Isle. Emerald Forest Golf and Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Croatan National Forest and Emerald Isle Woods Park. Salty Pirate Water Park and Emerald Isle Adventures are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.

Have a great stay:

  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
