Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful Sunsets, Wide Beach and You Can Bring Your Dog! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
