Booking the best Havelock rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:

- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the right Havelock rental home:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Chadwick Cottage in Downtown Beaufort, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.

Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
