This classicly styled home is ideal for your next hideaway. Just blocks from the ocean, but remote enough to make you feel like a local. You'll appreciate the peaceful evenings on the covered porch as you sip your favorite drink and stargaze. The yard is plentiful for fun and games. Inside, the kitchen provides everything you'll need for whipping up all your favorite meals and snacks. Gather together in the living room for games or to watch your favorite movie, or savor the privacy of your bedroom, complete with a TV and comfortable beds. There is also plenty of room on the side of the home to bring your boat for great days on the water!

Adventure is only a short distance away. Check out the museums, breweries, farmers market, antique stores, and other shopping, and of course the eateries.

About the Area

Located in Beaufort, this vacation home is by the sea. Beaufort Historic Site and Core Creek Bridge are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Morehead City Yacht Basin and Town Creek Marina. North Carolina Maritime Museum and Mount Maker Charters are also worth visiting.

How to get the best rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose yourrental:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Havelock beach you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
