Our top Havelock rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Emerald Isle:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Dune Alright, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
