Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Havelock rental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceans #6- Stunning Ocean Front Condo has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
