Our top Rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Beaufort. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Tidal Treasure 10% of for a 7-night booking! Bring your boat! Pet friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
