Our top Vacation rental tips:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your Havelock vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the right Havelock rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 3 Minute walk to the Ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Tips for a great stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
