Our top Rental home booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Havelock vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Popular ~ Quaint. Bogue Shores Condo -- just steps to a beautiful beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
