Our top Rental property booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- To start, have your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. A Wave From It All - First Floor Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
