Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there. https://www.wect.com/2023/06/21/100-best-beach-towns-us/
Full kitchen, enormous 36' x 12' patio with charcoal grille and huge sectional, multiple rocking chairs, and porch swing, dining area, living room, full bathroom, queen bedroom, dual twin bedroom, two rollaway beds, laundry in unit, beach outdoor shower. Home away from home!
The entire unit of the duplex will be yours. This property is smoke-complimentary, meaning you must leave the property completely if you wish to smoke. This is a pet-complimentary property.
My favorite spot in the home is the massive 36' x 12' patio with the porch swing, and humongous sectional seating area. I appreciate that I can hear the waves crash from here.

Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- First, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Barefoot Beach South: Fantastic location, steps from sand with views of the bay! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
