Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there. https://www.wect.com/2023/06/21/100-best-beach-towns-us/
Full kitchen, enormous 36' x 12' patio with charcoal grille and sizable sectional, multiple rocking chairs, and porch swing, dining area, living room, full bathroom, queen bedroom, dual twin bedroom, two rollaway beds, laundry in unit, beach outdoor shower. Home away from home!
The entire unit of the duplex will be yours. This property is smoke-complimentary, meaning you must leave the property completely if you wish to smoke. This is a pet-complimentary property.
My favorite spot in the home is the massive 36' x 12' patio with the porch swing, and humongous sectional seating area. I appreciate that I can hear the waves crash from here.

Getting the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the right Havelock rental home:
- Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Barefoot Beach South: Fantastic location, steps from sand with views of the bay! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
Advice for a smooth stay:

- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review.
