Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there.
My favorite spots here are the broad with outdoor areas, including dining, giant sectional couches, and fire table to appreciate as the sun goes down. I adore that I can hear the waves crash from here.

Finding the best Havelock rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Barefoot Beach: Spectacular Family Beach Retreat! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
