Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there.
My favorite spots here are the broad with outdoor areas, including dining, giant sectional couches, and fire table to appreciate as the sun goes down. I appreciate that I can hear the waves crash from here.

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Barefoot Beach: Spectacular Family Beach Retreat! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
