Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit Beaufort & When to book:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking the bestvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beaufort Kite House - Front Street 7 Bedroom Home has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
