Tips to get the very best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. A Southern Exposure, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
