Havelock rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your group choose the best dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Blondie East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
