Tricks and tips to get the perfect Havelock vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- To start, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC-Boardwalk Shores Unit A has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
