Tips and Tricks for getting the best Beaufort vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beachfront Condo with Amazing Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Have a great stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
