Tips and Tricks for getting the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect rental in Beaufort:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Calm Tide on Ann Street, walk to Beaufort waterfront. No pets or smoking. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
