Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 4BR Ocean Front Duplex - off Coast Guard Rd! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
