Beaufort rental home booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental in the Havelock area:
- To start, have your family commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sound Front Home with Dock in Downtown Beaufort, NC (Creek Watch) has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
