Tricks and tips to get the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. “A Swell Life” 3 Bed\/3 Bath, Oceanfront Condo, Unit 1105 Queens Court has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
Have a great stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
