Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Crystal Coast Condo - Full Amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
