Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- To start, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Emerald Isle, oceanfront, 7 BR, pool & hot tub, pet Friendly has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
