Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in Emerald Isle:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Esperanza, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 12 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, contact the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
