Emerald Isle rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the best rental home:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Exclusive Dolphin Ridge \"ISLAND TIME\" with private pool and golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
