Single Level Home in Beaufort, NC. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Bed Configuration: 1 King, 2 Twins. Pet Friendly* (with non-returnable fee)
The town of Beaufort-by-the-Sea has been a favorite for centuries. From long-ago sailors who dropped anchor in Beaufort Inlet after a wearying voyage, to tourists from near and far who long to experience the modest-town vibe of this southern town, to Blackbeard himself, who famously hung out in these parts after pillaging and treasure seeking on the open sea.
This splendid home on Live Oak Street, Green Turtle Cottage, is in keeping with the overall appeal of historic Beaufort, which is made up of period homes, white picket fences, and old live oaks. The home itself has vintage appeal from the get-go with a welcoming front porch ideal for sipping coffee in the mornings. The interior is attractively refreshed with wood floors and white walls for a fresh and inviting feel. Luxe, modern details like the charming black-and-white, bespoke tile in the bathrooms and diagonal checkerboard slate in the kitchen are both classic and crisp. Unwind in the evening on the brand-new back deck, complete with a charcoal grille and outdoor dining table with seating for six. So much sunlight, warm natural textured touches and the homey vibe round out the comfort of this ideal little place where you will appreciate to be.
When you’re ready to venture out, the French bakery, Les Ciseaux, is only three blocks away, where croissants and baguettes are baked fresh daily. The Olde Beaufort Farmer’s Market is just beyond and is a favorite for locals and more.
The center of downtown is Front Street only mins. from the front door. Stroll along Taylor’s Creek, and watch for ferry boats, dolphins, and wild horses across the waterway, visit downtown's stores and art galleries, and savor the many delicious eateries, bars and cafes.
Life couldn’t be more striking when you happen to be in Beaufort!

Our top Beaufort vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Green Turtle Cottage in Downtown Beaufort, NC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
