Tricks and tips to get the perfect Emerald Isle rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. \"Sea's the Day\" with Exceptional Views! \nNow excepting 2025 reservations. has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
