Strategies to get the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Lorelei East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
