How to find the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Modern 5BR Ocean Front Home w\/ Pool! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
