Emerald Isle vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Modern 5BR Ocean Front Home w\/ Pool! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
