Booking the best Havelock vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Oasis w\/double covered porch 4 BR\/2BA - updated Emerald Isle classic! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a great stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
