Booking the best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the best Havelock rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Oasis w\/double covered porch 4 BR\/2BA - updated Emerald Isle classic! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
