Get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
