Booking the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To book the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation home in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Private and Quiet Beach House! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
