Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking the perfect Havelock vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Front Ocean View, With Private Heated Pool & Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
