Tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:
- First and foremost, have your family select dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Dune It Whale, Oceanfront House In Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
