How to book the best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:

- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:

Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
