Finding the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, 3rd-floor condo with porch, pools, tennis, pickleball & gym has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
