Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront, 3rd-floor condo with porch, pools, tennis, pickleball & gym has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If not, call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
