Havelock rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sounds Perfect - Bright and airy sound front home w\/dock. 2 blocks to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
