Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To book the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. OCEANFRONT COMPLEX WITH POOLS & EASY BEACH ACCESS. UPDATED CONDO has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
