Finding the best rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanside Condo-Slack Tide in Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
