Vacation rental home tips:
When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront, First-Floor Condo with Balcony, Ocean View & Shared Pools\/Tennis has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
