Tricks and tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefect Havelock vacation home:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean\/Sound View Condo Near Beach with WiFi, Private Deck, & W\/D - Dog-Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
