Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Lovely townhouse steps from the beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
