When to visit & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review.
