Rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. PET FRIENDLY OCEANFRONT COTTAGE WITH EASY ACCESS has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
