We rent to family groups, married couples, or mature adults over the age of 25. We do not, under any circumstances, rent to groups for proms, graduations, college home events, etc. Misrepresentation will result in immediate eviction without refund.

** TWO OPTIONS FOR DAMAGE PROTECTION **
1. Damage Protection Insurance – For an additional $79.00, this plan covers up to $3,000 in unintentional damages to the rental unit that may occur during your stay. Report the damage to us, we’ll take care of the rest!
2. Security Deposit - $1,500 is immediately charged at time of booking. If the property is left undamaged, keys & parking passes returned, your security deposit will be refunded within 45 days after check out.

Getting the most from your rental budget:

• To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
• Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
• Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
• Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
• Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
• Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
