How to book the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Book your Havelock vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental home in the Havelock area:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sunny Side, Soundside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
