How to get the best Havelock rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Reserve your Havelock rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing your prefectrental:
- First, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. R&R, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 11 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
