Tips for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Havelock area:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Southwinds F4 1st Floor Direct Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
