BeaufortHouse is our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath vacation home on North River with 2 double beds, 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds. Located on the water about 3 miles from town in a peaceful neighborhood, it's close enough to appreciate what impressive Beaufort has to offer. The eat-in kitchen seats 4 and the dining room seats 8-10. Curl up in the recliner in the living room to savor a book, away from the gang, or sit on the screened porch or deck and enjoy the waterfowl and perhaps even dolphin playing in North River. Bring your lawn games to enjoy, or take a walk through the neighborhood. Lots of fun things to do in the area and when you tire, come back to a comfortable home, enjoy an outdoor shower, serve yourself a cool drink, put on some music and prop up your feet. Booking the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Havelock vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Spectacular Sunrises over the Waters of North River has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
