Strategies for getting the perfect rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Finding the best vacation rental:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Spectacular Sunrises over the Waters of North River has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Havelock destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
