Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect rental home in Atlantic Beach:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautifully Remodeled, Oceanfront, 3rd-Floor Condo with Balcony & Shared Pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
