Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Stunning water views, walk to beach! 2 bed, 2 bath, condo on the Bogue sound. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
